MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Launched as an Upgraded Dimensity 6300: Specifications
The MediaTek Dimensity 6400 is an octa-core chipset
MediaTek recently introduced the Dimensity 6400 as its latest chipset for budget-friendly smartphones. This processor is essentially a rebranded version of the Dimensity 6300 from 2024, featuring slightly faster performance cores. Notably, last year’s Dimensity 6300 was itself a rebadged variant of the Dimensity 6100+ from 2023. The newly launched Dimensity 6400 is built on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) 6nm process technology and supports up to 108-megapixel cameras, a 120Hz Full-HD display, and 5G connectivity.

The Dimensity 6400 is an octa-core 6nm chipset featuring two Arm Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz. This core configuration is identical to the Dimensity 6300 and Dimensity 6100+ chipsets, though the older models had slightly lower clock speeds of 2.4GHz and 2.2GHz, respectively. The chipset also retains the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
Similar to its predecessors, the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 supports Full-HD AMOLED displays (1,080×2,520 pixels) with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. According to the chipmaker, it also offers support for cameras up to 108 megapixels.

MediaTek states that the Dimensity 6400 features a 3GPP Release-16 compliant 5G modem, delivering peak download speeds of up to 3.3Gbps and supporting 5G (SA/NSA), 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G connectivity. The chipset also includes support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band GPS.

Smartphone enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to see the Dimensity 6400 in action. The Realme P3x 5G is set to launch in India on February 18—just a day away—featuring a 6,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The device is also confirmed to come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
