A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 11:05 a.m. EDT on June 11, 2026, carrying 24 Starlink internet satellites into low-Earth orbit. The mission, designated Group 17-44, was successfully completed within an hour, marking another milestone in the company’s rapidly expanding satellite network.
With this latest deployment, SpaceX’s Starlink mega-constellation has grown beyond 10,600 satellites, further strengthening its global broadband coverage ahead of what many consider another landmark moment for the company.
Booster B1071 Moves Closer to Reusability Record
The mission also highlighted the impressive performance of first-stage booster B1071, which completed its 34th flight, putting it just one mission away from matching the Falcon 9 reusability record currently held by booster B1067. According to reports, B1067 set the record with its 35th launch on June 8, making B1071 one of the most frequently reused rockets in SpaceX’s fleet.
After separating from the upper stage, **B1071 successfully returned to Earth and executed a controlled landing on the autonomous droneship “Of Course I Still Love You” stationed in the Pacific Ocean, once again demonstrating SpaceX’s advanced reusable rocket technology.
From Orbit to Nasdaq
Crossing the 10,600-satellite milestone is more than just a numerical achievement for SpaceX. A larger and more strategically distributed Starlink constellation can improve broadband coverage, network capacity, and overall service reliability across the globe. The company ultimately aims to deploy as many as 42,000 satellites in low-Earth orbit as part of its long-term vision for global internet connectivity.
The latest launch also coincided with heightened attention surrounding SpaceX’s planned public market debut. The mission took place as the company finalized preparations for its Nasdaq listing, scheduled for June 12, with shares expected to trade under the ticker symbol SPCX at a price of $135 per share.
