iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: Complete Specifications
Design and Display
Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, crafted from “aerospace-grade aluminum” and featuring a new color-infused backglass design. The devices are available in five color options: ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black. The iPhone 16 comes with a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus features a larger 6.7-inch screen. Both models offer peak brightness of 2000 nits and can dim to as low as 1 nit in low-light conditions.
Additionally, Apple has brought the Action Button to the standard models. This button allows users to quickly access functions such as recording voice memos, identifying songs, or translating phrases. It is customizable, supporting shortcuts and in-app functionalities like locking or unlocking a car via the FordPass app.
The iPhone 16 introduces a new camera control feature, allowing users to adjust settings by sliding a finger on the screen, positioned on the right side just below the on/off switch. This addition enhances usability and accessibility for quick adjustments.
A new camera control button has also been added, seamlessly integrated into the surface and protected by sapphire glass. A single press launches the camera, a second press takes a photo, and holding it activates video recording. The camera control supports advanced touch gestures, differentiating between a full press and a lighter tap. A lighter tap provides a clean preview, helping users frame their shots more accurately. Additionally, a new overlay offers quick access to essential camera functions such as zoom.

A major highlight of the iPhone 16 models is the inclusion of Apple Intelligence. This AI-powered feature can interpret and generate languages, images, and more, with Apple ensuring that data is never stored or shared, thanks to its secure cloud computing and strict privacy commitments.
The iPhone 16 series enhances productivity by summarizing emails and prioritizing notifications. Users can search for photos with descriptions like “Shani dancing in a red dress” or locate specific moments in videos. Siri now provides step-by-step guidance, even if users stumble over their words, and supports direct text input.
A new feature, Visual Intelligence, allows users to point their camera at objects such as menus or event flyers to obtain details or add events to their calendars. It can also identify dog breeds and other objects, while maintaining user privacy. Initially, these Intelligence features will be available in US English, with additional languages expected next year.
